Do you provide the alcohol for the event?
Under Louisiana law, mobile bartending services operate on a "dry hire" model, meaning we do not sell or supply alcohol directly. However, we make it effortless for you! We work with you to design a custom menu and provide an exact, itemized shopping list for spirits, beer, and wine. You purchase the alcohol directly at retail prices—saving you money—and we handle the rest, including mixers, garnishes, ice, and service.
Do you provide event servers in addition to bartenders?
Yes! In addition to professional mobile bartenders, Happy Hour Helpers provides experienced event servers and floor staff. Our servers handle greeting guests, passing hors d’oeuvres, clearing tables, bussing glassware, and keeping your venue spotless throughout your event.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in New Orleans and proudly serve events throughout the Greater New Orleans area (NOLA), including Metairie, Kenner, the Northshore, and surrounding parishes.
How many bartenders or servers do I need for my event?
As a general rule, we recommend one bartender for every 75 to 100 guests for standard beer and wine service, or one bartender per 50 to 75 guests for full-service craft cocktail menus. For event servers, we recommend one server per 25 to 30 guests for plated meals or active floor service. We’ll evaluate your specific guest count, menu complexity, and setup to recommend the perfect staffing level.
What do your mobile bartending packages include?
We offer flexible packages based on your event’s needs. Options range from Bartender-Only service to All-Inclusive Packages that cover custom signature cocktail design, portable bar setups, fresh garnishes, mixers, ice, cups, napkins, and full bar tools.
How early does the team arrive to set up?
Our team typically arrives 60 to 90 minutes before your event start time to set up the bar station, chill beverages, prep garnishes, and make sure everything is polished and ready before your first guest arrives.
Can you create custom signature cocktails for weddings or themed parties?
Yes, signature drinks are our specialty! With over 20 years of bartending experience, Yvonne and our team work with you to craft unique, theme-matching cocktails (and mocktails) tailored to your taste and event vision.
